Hello! ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)
My team and I often use recurring tasks to track progress, communications, etc. We use task dependencies for our review process and once the review is done, the task is complete. When we do this on recurring tasks, however, we found after a certain time that we could no longer add dependencies.
From what I found, those dependencies remain on the newly-created recurring tasks even though they’re completed and applied to the previous task in the recurrence.
Is there a way to remove those dependencies without checking the dependent task “Incomplete” to click the “X”?
Thank you! ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)
Hi @Cassandra_Youngren, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!
I see what you mean. When the new recurring task is duplicated, it will be automatically set as dependent of the task that was already completed. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, if you wish to remove the dependencies, you will need to check the dependent task “Incomplete” to click the “X”.
As a workaround, instead of setting the task as recurrent, you can duplicate the task and untick the box that duplicates the dependencies. By doing so, the new task won’t be marked as dependant and you won’t need to manually remove it every time a new task is created.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for the quick response and confirming! ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)

It’s been almost a year since this post and I’m wondering if there has been an improvement?
