Deactivate but save Rules

Anyone know if it is possible to deactivate but save a rule?

Our team has been leaning in to using Rules, and we have found some instances where we have spent a lot of time building out a rule with lots of bells and whistles, and then come to realize we are ready to activate it yet. Seems the only option is to delete. Our workaround has been to create a hidden custom field that helps to toggle it on/off, but it seems like a feature that should be next to the “run on tasks” or “delete” area.

@Allison_Merrick1 - it’s not super intuitive, but you can pause rules by opening them in the rule builder, clicking the little green dot that says “Active” under the rule title, and re-saving the rule.
