If this wasn’t the company sanctioned collab app (for now), I wouldn’t use it. How come Monday.com have a multitude of fields available (basic functionality guys!), but you can’t? Have you stopped development on Asana?

This is crazy Asana has no date option for a custom field, half of the reason to have Asana is to track task based on dates.
No idea if this makes any difference as this has been going on for 3 years, but Monday.com has so many custom fields and they can all be reported on. If this level of custom field use was available in Asana, we’d upgrade to business tomorrow.
I use asana for so much and the limited set of custom fields keep setting the ceiling for how it’s used and results in so many Klugey workarounds.

Yes we are interested in this as well. We are using it for projects such as client waitlists, capturing when they first enquired as a field and then having the due date and pulling reports between those two dates but without a custom field date we are having to do it through text fields which doesn’t allow us to sort very well.
One of my co-workers told me he had to use text for a custom date field and I told him he must be mistaken. So I went and tried it myself to no avail. I still didn’t believe it and figured it was user error until I read these postings.
Still find it hard to believe.
+1 Having date and checkbox custom fields would be very helpful to our organization.
Another disappointed user here who really needs a Date type custom field.

Release Date, Review Date, Launch Date, Submission Deadline, are all information I want to attach to my tasks that aren’t Due Date. It needs to be a field because I want to see them in table views, sort by them, and search.
Is there any update here? This seems like a very obvious request, especially for accounting.
