Hi there,
I know that when no ‘followers’ are specified for a task that the assignee and creator are automatically added as collaborators. However, it is in fact possible to have a task with no collaborators (just create task and then remove all collaborators).
I wanted to ask if there is any way of specifying a ‘null’ collaborator value, different from just not specifying any collaborators, that will mean the task is created with no collaborators?
I suspect this is not possible, but thought I’d ask anyway.
Thanks
Hello @Peter_Bradshaw welcome to the Asana Community Forum
Have a look at this thread, I think this is exactly what you are looking for: Don’t auto-follow every task that I create - #4 by Emily_Roman
You can achieve this by setting up a rule.
Hope that helps
Hi @Andrea_Mayer.
Thanks for pointing me to this! However, this won’t work perfectly for me as I am also creating subtasks, which I don’t think will work under the rule
I think I’ll just have to call the API after creating the subtasks to also remove the collaborators.
Thanks
Hm yeah that is current rules do not currently work for subtasks. So you would have to add the subtask to the project itself.
Alternatively, @Phil_Seeman does this work with Flowsana maybe?
Flowsana does support rules on subtasks. Unfortunately it doesn’t currently have a “Remove collaborators” rule action, so I don’t think it would help in this particular case.
