What i’d like to be able to do is click on an email address in a task field and have that start an email in outlook with that email (this is already working) but have the subject of the email be populated with the task name. is this something i could do with zapier or something similair?
Hi @jeremy_webb1 , it sounds like you need a ‘Prepare draft email’ action which I don’t think Zapier or other integrators support. They do however support a ‘Send email’ action which is actually now available in Asana’s rule actions, either using your Outlook or Gmail account.
Within this rule action, you could add variables from your custom fields, such as the email address, the name of the recipient and other fields within a ‘boilerplate’ body of text.
Such a rule would not be triggered by clicking on the email address in Asana. Instead, you could create a single-select field to act as an ‘action’ button, with an option such as ‘Send email’. Your same rule could then change that field to the 2nd option ‘Email sent’.
