Certain shortcuts (like Add Description/Subtasks/Tags/etc.) should automatically open Task Details if needed

I know I can press “Tab + S” to start entering a subtask. But it only works if the details pane is open. I’d love to be able to use the shortcut from the main pane, even without the details pane open. I’d expect it to open the details pane and create a new subtask.

This would be great. Having to open the details pane interrupts my flow when trying to quickly enter a list of tasks and subtasks.

Would it be ok for you to change the subject to: “Certain shortcuts (like Add Description/Subtasks/Tags/etc.) should automatically open Task Details if needed”?

I think this would be a timesaver for many and don’t see any downside–if you’re typing the Tab+D shortcut it means you are asking to go to the Description field.
