I’m converting a task to a project and when doing so, the data entered in the task fields are not carrying over to the project’s fields. Is there a rule I can run that will allow me to do that and if so, when do I need to run that rule: In the project template, in the board the task lives, or in the new portfolio the converted task will live as a project?
Hi @AS95 , the key to make this work is to make sure the fields that are in the project (that the task is in) and the portfolio (that the project converted from the task is added to) are the same fields that are added to your field library.
Then the rule action (or menu action) to convert task to project will map the fields from task to project, automatically.
The rule will be in the project that the task is in so it triggers on the task to convert it to a project.
