Can't set default view for Workspace

I’d like to be able to set the calendar view as the default when I click on my workspace, but I can’t find a way to set this. Is this possible?

Can you clarify what you call your Workspace, and the Calendar view? Are you talking about My Tasks?

Based on your other post https://forum.asana.com/t/cant-set-default-to-weekends-on-for-full-workspace-calendar/166874 I would say you want Calendar to be the default layout for any project created in Asana. Correct?

It would be nice if I could set “weekends: on” as a setting for an entire workspace.

You can set a default on a per project basis (via a convoluted method of changing the calendar view as the default view for the project with “weekends:on” and then changing the default view back to whatever default you actually want: Save weekend as default view in Calendar view - #28 by Sierra_Villa_Lodge_M) — however, when you click on the workspace as a whole to see the calendar for all projects at the same time, there is no way (that I could find) to set “weekends: on” as a default.

Hi @jvb, thanks for reaching out!

If you are referring to your My Tasks, please note My Tasks automatically saves your Sort, Filter, and View preferences for next time. This means that if you open your Calendar view and move to another section, this same view will be visible when you open your My Tasks again.

However, this is not the case for projects. Project views will not save automatically but you can save your project view following the steps in this Guide article.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

I’m not referring to “my tasks” I’m referring to “workspaces” (which seem to be called workspaces for personal accounts, and “teams” when you sign up with a domain account).

On the desktop client, if you click on a workspace (or team), you can navigate to the calendar view to see a calendar for all your projects at the same time. This is a really nice view as it shows all tasks across all assignees across all projects in one calendar.

I’d like to do two things:

  1. Set the default view for the workspace to calendar (not the projects in the workspace, I still want those to be list view)
  2. Set “weekends: on” as the default for the workspace. (actually, I’d love if this was an account wide setting so I can just have weekends on for all calendars for me).
