Can't move tasks on some boards, but can on others?

In some boards i can move tasks between columns, and in others i can’t, or i can move certain tasks and not others…??

Hi @Erika_Bosio, welcome to the Community Forum and thanks for reaching out!

I recommend you checking your permissions on each project. Please note that if you have full edit access you will be able to move tasks between columns. However, if you have Comment only access you will be only able to move tasks assigned to you. You can check your permissions clicking the Share icon in your project header.

Let me know if the issue persists or if you have any questions!

HI @Emily_Roman via Asana Community Forum,

Thanks for your reply, I created all the boards, so I have full access to all the boards. It just started working again after a couple of hours… I have no idea what may have changed in that time.

I had emptied cache, checked on other browsers, made sure my browser was up to date (it was), but nothing worked (at least not immediately). I left it alone, and came back later only to find it all behaving.

Cheers,

Erika

This just happened to me. Can’t move any tasks in any projects. I am the account owner. Cleared my cache. Using the latest version of chrome.

@Zvi_Twersky even through you are the account holder, is there a chance that you only have comment-only access on the project in question? Being an account owner myself, I’ve learned that this doesn’t give me overriding privileges/access when it comes to being a comment-only member or seeing private projects I don’t below to.

First, to make someone “comment only” is only in the pro version and I’m on the free one. Second, the owner doesn’t have the option “comment only.” For the owner, I only have two options; “Remove as project owner” and “remove from project.”

But I might have an issue with my keyboard, specifically with my left mouse drag option, as I now see that also can’t drag selected text in any text editor. So it’s probably a small issue that a computer restart would fix but I can’t restart for another 8 hours because I have a photoshop script running. I will restart tomorrow morning and update.

Ah, I actually didn’t realize that was a Premium feature. Interesting.

I interpreted that by account holder you meant you were the admin and not just a project owner.

I see. Hopefully a restart does the trick then. Thanks for the follow up!

I didn’t even have to restart the computer, just restarted explorer.exe and it’s fixed.
