Can you create a dashboard for gathered data rather than just reporting on a project?

Is there a way in which I can use a graph in Asana dashboard to actually pick up the data I have input into the board?

I have set out sections within the board for our quantifiable KPIs and used tasks to separate the months, then set up categories for amounts and percentages. However my Asana does not appear to have the functionality to create a graph to show this information set up, for example as you could do in an Excel/Google sheets document. It will only give the obvious options like being able to do task incomplete/completed, by assignee, date etc.

Does Asana have this functionality? If anyone knows how to set this up and can help me, I’d be extremely grateful.

Did you look at the Dashboard tab in a project? and the “Reporting” part at the top of the sidebar?

Yes I did, I am knowledgeable of the dashboard and reporting functions, however I am wondering if actual data from a project e.g. monthly KPI data, rather than about the project e.g. tasks, milestones, open/closed tasks.

If I’m understanding correctly, Asana does not have this capability internally? If so, you’d need to export your data from Asana and then organize it to match your preferred setup, then have a way to showcase the quantifiable KPIs in your preferred format. My company uses Asana heavily and has built a deep integration with the API to pull out our own data and do our own reporting that can’t be done in Asana. I’m not positive if we can solve your specific use case, but let me know if I am understanding you correctly and I’m happy to ask!
