Yes, you can do that. You now have total control over what sections are or are not in your My Tasks and what you name them.
You can’t have no sections at all - there has to be at least the one which by default is named “Recently assigned” but which you can rename. You can, however, put all of your My Tasks tasks under that one section, name it whatever you like, and sort it.
I’m trying to understand what happened here with the recent update to My Tasks. My team’s workflow depended on due tasks to automatically appear on the My Task list. And to defer tasks using the Later and Today functionality.
Looks like that’s all been removed??
I’m trying to figure out how we can work around these major changes. But wow, this doesn’t look good… This is the sort of fundamental change I worry about when Asana continues to add feature bloat.

Hi @Daniel11,
The update to My Tasks doesn’t alter whether tasks appear or not in your My Tasks; a task will still show up there when it’s assigned to you, as before.
Yep, the auto-promotion feature has been removed; but rules have been added so that you can create your own auto-promotion behavior. To recreate the previous auto-promote behavior, see the section “Recreating Today, Upcoming, Later promotion behavior” in this help topic:
