Does anyone have advice on getting a better outlook sync UX
I just want to see all tasks with Due dates as a single outlook calendar with meaningful data (atm the basic integration truncates to a few chars only which mean I have to drill down to see TEST… test what ?

I understand the frustration with the limited information displayed when syncing Asana tasks to your Outlook calendar. One workaround you could try is to manually export your Asana tasks and then import them into Outlook. This might give you a bit more control over how the data appears.
