Hey there!

Is it possible to automate the assigning of tasks based on the number of persons dedicated to these tasks? Dividing the tasks equally between a team of designers, for example.

Yes, this can be automated using Rules and custom fields.
Here’s one way to set it up:

Option 1: Use Rules + Custom Fields

  1. Add a custom field (for example, Design Type).
  2. Go to Customize → + Add rule.
  3. Set a trigger, such as When a task is added.
  4. Add conditions based on the custom field value.
  5. Set the action to Assign this task to a specific designer.

This allows tasks to be automatically routed to the right person based on the selected value.

For a more balanced workload, you can also use Workload. Add an effort-tracking field (such as Estimated Hours or Points) to understand each person’s capacity and make adjustments as needed.

While the assignment itself isn’t fully automatic based on availability, combining Rules with Workload can make task distribution and workload management much easier.
