I am currently trialling this product to see if it is fit for purpose for the business.
One thing I am struggling to find how to do is to have the priority or Tag change depending on how close to the due date it is. For instance, if we had a recurring task which is due in 1 weeks time, then the priority changes from Low to Medium, and then if it comes to 2 or 3 days before the due date, it changes Medium to High
Hi @Craig_Summers, welcome to the Asana Community Forum! As it stands, it’s currently not possible to automatically update a custom field when the due date is approaching. I’ve gone ahead and moved this thread to our #productfeedback to allow other customers to upvote!
FYI this is definitely do-able with my Flowsana integration. It has date-based rule conditions where you can say things like “If a task is due within 7 days…” And you can have an action to add a tag or change a custom field value, etc.
Can it change the priority of that task on multiple time frames?
Not within one rule, but there’s no reason you couldn’t create multiple rules; for example:
If task is due in 7 days, set custom field “Status” to “Due date approaching”.
If task is due in 3 days, set custom field “Status” to “Due date almost here”.
If task is past due by 2 days, set custom field “Status” to “You missed it!”.
