I am trying to set up an automation process, whereby i’ve created a rule in my outlook that automatically forwards an email to my Asana which then creates a task.
However, the emails only show up as tasks in Asana when i’m manually forwarding them – it doesn’t seem to work when i’ve got the ‘rule’ applied in my outlook.
Can someone help?
Hi @anon58939473, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!
Could you confirm if the email address from which the emails are automatically forwarded is currently registered in Asana?
The tasks are created when you send the emails from your email address because you have an Asana account associated with that email.
Looking forward to your reply!

Hi there – yes they are, I’ve set the rule up from my work email address which is the email address I use for my asana. When I manually forward emails from my work address, they show up, but they do not when forwarded from the ‘rule’.
Any ideas as to why?
Thanks! Freya

Thanks for getting back to me @anon58939473! In this case, I recommend you to contact our support team so we can investigate this further. When you contact them please confirm the following information:
- Screenshot showing the From: and To: in one of the emails that was automatically sent to Asana using the rule but the task was not created
- URL of this thread so you don’t need to explain everything again
- From which email address you are manually sending the email and the task is created
I hope the issue is solved soon!
