Asana Rule can't be added to a Project

I want to create a simple rule that when a task is moved to another section a Teams message is sent to a specific channel.

The only issue I have with this is that as soon as I click on “publish” Asana closes the window but doesn’t add that rule and everything disapears like nothing ever happenend.

Couldn’t find a solution here maybe someone can help me with that issue.

Welcome to the Asana forum! Could you please share an additional screenshot showing the rule you are trying to create? Are you using any external integrations with Asana (e.g., Teams, Slack)?

Have your tried refreshing your browser or restarting your Dekstop app? Or try an incognito/private tab in your browser?

Also try deauthorizing MS Teams from your Settings>Apps and start over by creating a new rule.

First of all, thank you very much for your help! I tried your suggestions, but unfortunately, they didn’t work. I can imagine that IT might have blocked something here, so I’ve reached out to them. I’ll need a bit more time.

Thanks for your patience. It now works! The IT blocked the Asana app in MS Teams.

I have more questions regarding transferring the information from Asana to MS Teams.

  • Is it possible to sent attached files ta a MS Teams channel through rules?
  • Is there any way to remove the “Assignee - Unassigned” and the “Due date” in the MS Teams Channel message?
