Asana Rule Automation Queries - Posting to Slack

Hello,

I am trying to achieve the following use cases:

  1. I am trying to setup an automation where a comment is added to a task by Asana @ mentioning the Assignee when a due date is either approaching or is due today, the screenshot below shows the setup, however, the rule doesn’t seem to trigger for some odd reason despite of the trigger criteria having been met i.e the due date set to today for a particular task

  1. I am also trying to go a step further, and have Asana automatically DM an Assignee if the above criteria is met, the DM should be via Slack, whenever I select “Send direct message”, it seems I am only limited to DMing 1 static user instead of it dynamically fetching the Assignee, any way to accomplish this dynamic DMing? See below:

Asana’s date-based rules are only evaluated once per day at approx. midnight your time, so if you set a task as due today the rule won’t immediately run which is probably what you’re expecting.

Thanks @Phil_Seeman that explains it ! Any idea on the 2nd question, around users being DMed on Slack dynamically?

There’s no way to do it via variables in the rule action as one might hope for. If you have access to AI Studio, you might try using that to accomplish it; I haven’t tested that scenario myself.
