Hi there, for some odd reason my asana will only print tasks now in complete gobbledegook language. It looks like a mix of Chinese, Russian and Klingon.
Swear I did not touch anything in settings or anywhere and just tried to print something and it appeared as the screenshot.
Soooo strange and I have no idea how to fix. Obviously no one else in my office is having any problems at all
Hi there Marie, thanks for the message.
I am in NEW YORK USA
No it happened yesterday, I’m not sure what time, I just went to print something and it wouldn’t print correctly.
Yes Asana is set up in English
Here is the URL: Log in - Asana
Interestingly, my boss also has access to this task and it printed as normal from his computer.
Anything I try to print does not show in english.
Nothing has changed on my computer except a mac update to 10.5 Catalina yesterday morning.
Actually I just went on a colleagues computer and logged on as me, I was able to print as usual normally from her computer so I guess it has been something to do with the mac os update.
All other programs print as usual.
Thanks for the additional info @jeremy9, that’s super useful. I’m passing in it on to our Dev Team right now and will keep you posted as soon as I have an update!
I’m keeping a close eye on this, and will be in touch asap, but if you could tell your colleagues to hold on to the update for now, that would be great! Thanks for your help Jeremy, really appreciate it!
Did this just happen? If not, could you tell me at what time it happened?
It began some days ago after the update to Catalina. Everything is updated.
Is your Asana set up in English?
Yes, and my Mac language is English too.
What are you trying to print? can you send us the URL of the project/task/report you’re trying to print? Log in - Asana
I’m trying to print a task and subtasks.
There’s a PDF with the printing example here: Dropbox - File Deleted
Are you able to reproduce this with another task/project?
I get the same result printing a Task or a Project. I’ve exported a Project using CSV, and it worked fine. Printing from other pages on chrome, and printing from files, works properly.
Thanks for the report @Miguel_Teibao, I’ve added it to the bug I filed earlier on. It looks this issue is only impacting Chrome, so I’d suggest to use another browser for the time being if you heavily rely on printing. I’ll keep you posted here as soon as I have an update!
Our team just pushed a fix for this issue, so this should now be resolved! If you have any questions or continue running into trouble, please let me know!
I’m also curious about @Nicole_Boucher’s report from 8 days ago, which may be similar to Print preview and print is garbled - #18 by Shmuel_Davidoff from @Shmuel_Davidoff more recently. Both of these posts were made after the fix you mentioned was released, so maybe it’s not fully fixed? I’m interested because I’ve gotten a report about similarly-garbled output from Asana2Go from a user (though I’ve never been able to reproduce it). If you or your dev team have any update or anything I can check into I’d appreciate it.
It’s not happening on my laptop, but did happen on my desktop still—it was page 3 or later when using the Print feature, not the CMD+P, which was fine but doesn’t give all the text details.
