Asana Portfolio view won't auto pull task dates to update Project date range

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: In Asana when adding tasks and date ranges you can update it and change it. In the Portfolio view of Projects, you need to manually maintain the dates, and it doesn’t “auto pull” the dates from the tasks in the projects themselves.

Steps to reproduce: Change a task date.
View project in portfolio view.
You will note the dates are still the old dates you manually input last time.

Browser version: Safari Mac + Windows laptops at Work. Not browser specific.

Hi @anon26940091, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!

In order to update the project date range, you need to access the project and then open the Progress tab. It’s expected that if you update the due date of the task, this won’t affect the date range of the project and the date you see in Portfolio!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or if you cannot find the option in my screenshot!

This is indeed intentional, the project timeframe is not affected by the tasks inside. That is actually a good thing in my opinion: your desired timeframe will stay and you’ll be able to see if you are running late somehow.
