I have a couple of questions within the same topic:
Let’s assume I subscribe 20 user at a yearly plan, then I deactivate 5 of them and subscribe some other 10. How am I billed? How does Asana follow the actual number of active users?
Can I mix in the same organization monthly and yearly billed users?

Re 20 users minus 5 plus 10, I think you’d need to increase your seats from 20 to 25 and you’d be billed the difference, perhaps (best to check with Sales).
You can read about Divisions in help.asana.com and here in the Forum which may be able to arrange monthly and yearly billing, but would create silos that would be undesirable. So I think the answer to your question is no, same billing frequency.
