I’m a longtime solo user. I rely on very basic, date-driven automation for my workflow. You all silently disabled this for free users within the past month. I’m very unhappy about this as it caused me to miss some key tasks. Additionally, like others, I would be more than willing to pay for a single seat, but seems like Asana’s management won’t consider or even respond to this given past, closed threads. I will sadly need to take my business elsewhere to a product that will accept my money, but really hope Asana reconsiders this as you’re simply ignoring an opportunity that’s almost certainly profitable (there’s no way more than 50% of people in my situation are paying for 2 seats when they only need one…).
Hi @Jack_Sisson,
We’re not yet at all sure if this is an intended change or not; we’re waiting to hear from Asana on it. They almost never make any change this dramatic without giving us Forum Leaders advance notice much less regular users, so we suspect it may not have been intentional. But we’ll have to wait and see. I almost merged your post into Today automation stopped working - Asana wants me to Upgrade? but it’s not a 100% match so I decided to leave it here for now. But I suggest you watch that other thread for an answer from Asana on what’s going on.
Not necessarily the case. Every user carries with it support costs, which for a single user can end up outweighing that user’s revenue. (Speaking from 45 years of experience running software companies )
Ditto this plea! I have been using for four years and I would LOVE this feature!
Many of Asana’s competitors (e.g. ClickUp, Todoist, Trello etc.) successfully balance their revenues and costs and manage to have an single-seat paid plan. To me, this comes across as a choice by Asana not to consider individual users on paid plans, they must believe enough single users will be happy to pay for 2 seats. This is up to them and their business model, but the dubious part is this is still not advertised upfront and keeps catching people out despite requests to make it clearer.
