We use an Asana portfolio to track active work for our product team. One of the fields in this portfolio is a link out to a Product Requirements document. However, the link in that field is only clickable if the person who is wanting to click through has edit access to the project.
We have a lot of portfolio and PRD viewers who we’d prefer to not give edit access on the project level, but who may want to click through to the PRDs linked in that portfolio field. Is there an existing solution that might help me achieve this? Or, is this a feature request for custom fields that are editable at the portfolio level instead of being reliant on the project’s access settings?
This issue is similar to this, but for tasks within projects:
I’m tempted to merge because your issue has to do specifically with text fields containing URLs, however the permissions are different in the Portfolio level.
Perhaps I could rename the title of your post to note clickable URLs in Text fields in Portfolios for non Project Admins…?
Hey there! It is similar, but I think the slight difference may be enough to let it stand alone, since I’m looking for a new setting on the portfolio level that wouldn’t impact the settings on the project level. That said, you can definitely rename the post!
@Rachel_Huffman, Don’t forget to click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button; that’s the quickest and most effective way to express your support for a request, as I just did.
