It will be great if we have option to add tags to tasks via mobile app. This will reduce the time of re-arranging your tasks later via desktop in case task was add using mobile app.

Great news, you can add tags on tasks via our mobile app!
If you’re using iOS, the feature is located in the “…” menu in the top right corner of your task details: Getting started with the Asana iOS app | Product guide • Asana Product Guide
If you’re using Android, the feature should also be located in th “…” menu in the top right corner of your task details: https://asana.com/guide/help/android/create#gl-task-details

I am using an Android phone. I believe the steps mentioned in below mail are for old version of the app,because the GUI is completely different.
And for the issue I have communicated to the support team and they have also confirmed currently this feature is not available.

@Joel4, I’ve just double checked on my Nexus device running the latest version of Android and I have the option to add tags on tasks. You’re correct, the screenshots from our guide are slightly outdated, but the feature is located more or less in the same area. See screenshot below from my phone

Please confirm from the below screenshot of my app.
I went to the “add tag” option. There I tried adding a tag, as this tag is not present it is not even giving option to create it.
App version: 6.55.5 (6550500)
Kindly check and confirm. If there is a different way to create a tag. Kindly guide.

@Joel4, just to clarify, are you trying to apply an exiting tag to this task, or are you trying to create a new tag?

Hi Marie – Just to confirm, the mobile apps can add tags, but can’t then view the tags when looking at a project list or My Tasks? It seems like the tags are of limited use if we can’t also see them!

1)is here any news about displaying tags in list view on iPhone (iOS)? I found it in board view as colour mark, but for majority of users is more applicable tags in list view as column.
2)how can I display priority field in iOS board view?

Hi @Siyâ, you cannot create tags from Mobile, you can only add existing ones!

Hello @SiĂ´n_Lewis. This feature was launched back in Feb 2021 (see update here) so you should be able to create tags from the the Android app
I hope you are not suggesting I should trade my iPhone (iOS) for an Android to enable me to create tags in Asana??? 
So back to my question. How do I make a feature request for “creating new tags in iOS app” (for iPhones and iPads)?

I’ve just tested it on my iOS phone, and it doesn’t appeared that tag creation is supported. Can you please create a new topic in Android & iOS - Feedback dedicated to tag creation in iOS?
