Adding a task to another project that shares a custom field (which both projects are grouped on) tasks are added to project 2 at the top of the list instead of the bottom.

If you have 2 projects A & B.
The both share a status field ( ToDo, Doing, Done). and the view is grouped on that field.

When you add a task from A to B, when it shows up in B, it is at the top of the section for that status instead of at the bottom as a newly added item.

Can we configure this?

Hi @Mark_Evans ,

I’m afraid that isn’t possible currently. Tasks are either sorted manually or through the sort options in the project view.

Sort options include creation date, and can be set to either ascending or descending order.

To request adding functionality that adds new tasks in a specific position you can add your voice and vote in this topic: Board View: Select where to add new tasks in a section (Top or Bottom of the list os tasks in a section) and maybe start a feedback thread for your specific request.

Cross referencing might help Asana and other users spot related feedback.
