I thought I had the perfect use-case for reference fields, where we have a list (project) of clients and are referring to client teams and portfolios using custom text fields.
Now that we have reference field, my first thought was to replace the team and portfolio fields with reference fields to clearly show where the the link was referring to.
Sadly, reference fields currently only support Tasks, Projects, Portfolios and Goals.
I’m hoping this can be expanded to include Teams.
Personally I would doubt that this would happen because Teams are not objects in the core Asana work graph:
@Phil_Seeman I challenge you to point to a graph element - save for the mission - that isn’t visually associated with a Team in that picture.

@Phil_Seeman, I get what you mean when you say Teams aren’t objects in the work graph, but I have a feeling they’re going to add Notes to the reference field option at some point down the road…and those aren’t part of the work graph either.
