Add project, search broken?

Since a few days I encounter the problem that the search function when adding projects does not work anymore. See the example below:

We are searching on the exact project name, which we always start with the project code. Before, this resulted in the right project immediately and now we cannot find it.

@Kelsea_Lopez isnā€™t it what you shared with us this morning?

Welcome, @Jurre_Kuijper1,

Can you tell us on which page and with which field you are encountering this, or share a screenshot that shows the context? Where are you ā€œadding projects?ā€ To a portfolio?

Or perhaps you may just want to go ahead and try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi @lpb,

Thank you for the quick response.

I encounter this on all tasks when adding that tasks to a project. Also in the general search bar in the top the problem is the same when searching for projects. The same goes for the mobile app.

Thanks for the support link, I will contact them as well.

Thanks,

Jurre

Ok, thanks. I couldnā€™t reproduce your problem but perhaps Kelsea has.

No this is not what I was sharing this morning, I believe mine was a new layout being tested for the search bar. Iā€™m not having the issue of not being able to search for my project names! Iā€™m sorry @Jurre_Kuijper1

Apologies if this sounds like a basic question, @Jurre_Kuijper1 , but are you certain that:

a) the project has not been deleted?
b) you still have access to the project?

Btw, Iā€™ve noticed Asanaā€™s (basic) search does not like underscores and does not treat them as a space so try and avoid them in your naming conventions.

Good catch, @Richard_Sather ; the underscore can be problematic.

@Jurre_Kuijper1, see if you can reproduce the problem with projects without a ā€œ_ā€ to help narrow the cause.

Hi Richard,

No worries.

a) Yes, they do exist and I have access. I can access it fine when going to the team and then to the project from the project list.
b) Yes

We had no problems with the underscores before, the search suddenly became problematic this week. So I would expect there is another reason for it.

I am able to find some projects that do not have underscores in their names but not all of them it seems. I have also heard from support now so I will let you know when we find the cause.
