Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: When I go to customize tasks on my board and select the “add field” button, the button is clickable but doesn’t add any additional fields. It only lets me toggle on and off these fields: assignee, due date, tags, projects, and dependencies.

Browser version: Google Chrome Version 89.0.4389.82

Quick question can you check you haven’t somehow been made “Comment Only” on that project?

Second to what @Jason_Woods has mentioned, could you please confirm if you are a Guest or a Member in the space? It is expected that Guests cannot create new custom fields.

@Rebecca_McGrath this is not the first time people mention it, and having a button that does nothing is really bad design, it should be considered as a bug cc @lpb our UX expert
I am definitely not comment only because I own the board.
This would be the most likely thing for you to check:
If your login email domain name (e. g., christy@gmail.com) doesn’t match the organization’s domain name (e. g., company.com) then you’re a Guest and that’s why you can’t access the feature.
