I know there’s the ability to convert a task to a project, which will create a new project and leave a link to that new project in the existing project in place of where the task used to be. But is there a way to add an existing project into another project among its tasks.
I don’t know why you want to do that - two projects are two projects (not one). There’s no option to “add project to another project” in Asana and probably never will be. So from my perspective, it’s about duplicity of projects or merging two projects into one. For that, you can usethe current functionalities of Asana:
Tasks multi-homing:
Merge duplicate tasks:
By multi-homing you can “move” all tasks from one project to another by using bulk actions.
Hello!
Thanks for the info I will try to figure it out for more.
Welcome to the forum @Michael_Adams2 !
What exactly do you mean with adding a project to another project?
And why would you want this?
Is there a feature to add a project to another project?
We have a Portfolio with a list of NAMES from a form submission converted to a PROJECT template with a series of tasks. We also have a Portfolio with a list of FACILITIES that are separate PROJECTs with a series of tasks managed by a different team. We would like to add a SECTION to include select NAME projects to the FACILITIES projects to minimizing duplicating efforts.
Is there a solution to do this?
I’m not sure I understand what you mean with this.
Do you mean to include tasks of one project into a specific section of another project?
Our NAME projects will inform the FACILITIES projects of the tasks our team is managing so they can appropriately create their list of tasks without duplicating efforts.
Is there a similar multi-homing feature for projects (like with tasks) to ADD TO PROJECT <Project/Section>
-
PORTFOLIO 1 (managed by our team)
-
NAME Project 1
-
NAME Project 2
-
NAME Project 3
-
PORTFOLIO 2 (managed by other team)
-
FACILITIES Project
-
NAMES Section
-
NAME Project 2 (from our PORTFOLIO 1)
So how would that second portfolio look like? Tasks and projects mixed?
