My team heavily uses templates. When I add a task and try to add dependencies using search, most of the time the first items to pop up are tasks from other projects. It would be 
if the first tasks matching the search query in the results were from the current project.

Not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for but via advanced search you can filter to only search within a project for example:
