I would like the ability to filter to show only Tasks marked as Milestones. This functionality would be available across all views (List, Board, Calendar, etc).

This is a great request! I sent it to our team internally to take it into consideration in the future. If you have a paid plan, in the meantime, you can create advanced search reports.

Hi @Emily_Roman, I know this post is a bit dated, but I’m not seeing the Advanced Search functionality that you were referring to here. Was this feature removed? It will be immensely useful to my team to be able to filter views to only display milestones within the project level. Thank you!
Any update on this? Given this request was made 2.5 years ago, it’s really silly I CAN’T easily filter within a board based on Milestones.

It may not be the solution you want, but Asana has (since this request, but a while ago) delivered a just-the-milestones list in the Project Overview:
You can click a milestone to view/edit.
This might be a workaround until/if filtering is provided.

Hi folks, we’ve had a number of our clients asking for this feature - to be able to filter a Project view to show only Milestone tasks

We still don’t have updates about the ability o filter by Milestones but I’ll keep you posted!

That’s Advanced Search, available for any paid plan, and it has changed.
Start by clicking in the Search box at the top of every page:
Than change the type from the default Task to Milestone for this topic’s request:

So is there a way then to put the results of that search into a timeline view?..basically I’m trying to get just the milestones into a timeline/gantt that’s visually pleasing and easy to read.
I do have a paid account.
Search results offers list or calendar views, but not Timeline or Gantt.
If you multi-home tasks (that is, add tasks to another project(s) besides the one they’re in) into a Milestones project, then you can make Timeline or Gantt be the default view for that project.
You can manually add tasks to the Milestone projects singly or with the multi-select bottom toolbar project pad icon, or automatically via rules.
okay, thanks, think that is what I’ll do. not trying to be mean or anything, but that’s a pain. seems like a relatively easy software code to be able to filter and create a view for milestones only without multi-homing them.

It’s not the Timeline/Gantt view you want, but it works for many of us; it’s in due date order.
