I’m new to Asana and have been setting up projects and portfolios. One thing that has been confusing for me is the sidebar organization.
After creating projects and grouping them into portfolios, the individual projects still appear alongside everything else in the sidebar. At the same time, there are separate “Projects” and “Portfolios” sections available.
As a result, the navigation can feel cluttered, especially for users who are trying to organize their work primarily through portfolios.
I’d love an option to choose how navigation is displayed, for example:
Show only portfolios in the sidebar and navigate into projects from there.
Show only projects.
Show both portfolios and projects (the current behavior).
For users with a growing number of projects, this would make the sidebar feel cleaner and easier to navigate.
Hi Amanda, what I did to resolve this was to “Star” the Portfolios I created and then using the minimize arrow to hide all the individual projects. This keeps it much cleaner and organized.
Hi @Amanda_Fernandez , welcome to the forum
I’ve moved this thread into the Asana Community > Product Ideas category where you and others can now vote for your idea. Hope you don’t mind, I’ve also rephrased the title so it’s clear on what to vote on.
