I am a new user and believe the user should be able to mark a task more than just “Mark Complete” (this doesn’t match real life). I need to skip a task for a given day and mark it “skipped” or “cancelled”. It doesn’t make sense for me to defer a task for a different date when it is already set to occur again the next day. My goal is to do an activity (habit) everyday and keep track of actual days I complete the task without having to Mark Complete for the days I don’t actually complete the task. I tried deleting the instance but it affected the following weekday task. I tried using subtask but was forced to Mark Subtask complete or they show up on the following day. When I delete a subtask for a weekly task, I want it to disappear so I can look back at a week at a time, e.g. to conclude that I only did the given task 3 days out of 7 for example. I tried using duplicate tasks and that was wierd. This is why I don’t believe Asana is the best tool to evaluate work load for people who overload their list with things to do that don’t get done. What doesn’t get done is very important for someone like me to take an inventory of my ability to delegate and to look at how I am living my life to either change my daily/weekly goals or make changes. I hope there is a way through this because I still believe Asana has the potential to be the best software to manage my non-profit; however, my idea to use the habit tracking as a exercise to learn the system resulted in disappointment with Asasa. Why can’t Asana give us option to mark a task partially complete or cancelled without having to create a custom field that has no value or meaning when you are conducting a work load analysis?
You can use ‘Custom Task Types’ if you are on the Starter plan or above.

Hi @Michael_Halsted , apart from the link that @Tetsuo_Kawakami has kindly provided, here is an article with some ideas to help you get started:
Incredible - I will dive in and give it a go! THANK YOU BIGTIME!
This is great - I REALLY appreciate you and Richard’s help. I am going to give it a try! The fact that you both took the time to respond is SO ENCOURAGING that I am not alone trying to eat the elephant all by myself. Thanks again!
Indeed you are not! FWIW I’ve been working with software for 45 years and the Asana community is the best one I’ve been involved with in all of that time.
