Why is attaching a file to a task getting harder?

I lead an advertising agency and part of our daily work with asana is to attach files and assign them to our clients for review.

During our many years of asana use (the desktop version), the attach-function first turned into a flyout with options for dropbox etc which already added another click.

Now, adding attachments is altogether hidden in another menu, which removes me and my team yet another click from a core function we heavily use throughout the day.

Can we please go back to a simple, immediate file attachment function (without dropbox etc) or at least a shortcut for that in the desktop version?

Hi Max, does the drag and drop function not work for you in this instance? As this is the quickest way to get a file into a task

Therefore, why don’t we start by discussing it in this thread?

Make "Attach Files" one of the main icons on a Task window, or allow users to reorder the icons

I frequently need to attach multiple files to many of my organization’s tasks, and since the recent Asana redesign this has become much more cumbersome. When you look at a regular (not full expanded) task view, the main icons across the top of the task window aren’t useful ones, and the Attach Files option is buried several clicks down. Right now, to attach every file, I need to click the … icon, then select the Attach Files menu item, then hover over the menu item until a secondary menu appear…

Hi Rebecca, it is not the quickest way, as this forces me to switch out of Asana, drill down into my multi-client folder, multi-project and multi-asset structure, arrange the OS and Asana windows side by side in a way that makes drag and drop possible and get all other App windows out out the way. Drag and Drop might sound simple but in reality it is a cumbersome, multi-click-process.
