What is the Specific date in rules (the date set in this rule)?

When I create a new custom rule in a project, one of the possible actions is to create a task (same to create a subtask).

In the configuration of this task it’s possible to define a relative date. And more precisely relative to … another date.

For example, we can define a date relative to D+2 of the trigger date of the rule by choosing set date based on “Trigger time”.

Another option exists and despite several attempts I can’t understand its use.
This is the option “Specific date (The date set in this rule)

Look below in this screenshot:

What is “the date set in this rule”?
Can someone explain to me what this is please?

@Cyril-iDO - just tested this for myself and that date seems to do nothing. I imagine the intent was to allow you to set an absolute date (or date relative to absolute date), but there’s no option to enter that date.

I’m assuming most people want to set dates relative to metadata in the triggering task, but giving this option without any apparent functionality does seem confusing. @Forum-team - is this a remnant of past behavior?

I can also see the “Specific Date” option but nowhere to actually specify the date. I would like to leverage this feature if available! Perhaps it’s currently in testing?

For example, I have a project where tasks are added to the first section over a period of a few weeks. Soon after the task is added, it’s reviewed and moved into the second section and a rule adds a subtask. Regardless of when the parent task is moved into the section and the rule is triggered, the subtask should always have a due date of Dec 31. Is this possible?
