👉 We need a real Chat/Direct Messaging system (to finally replace Slack!)

Hey guys,

We are really trying to keep all our work and communication inside Asana, but the current Messaging feature makes this very hard. We still have to rely on Slack for quick syncs.

I know we have task comments, and I know we can send a message to a Team or a Person. But the problem is how these messages are handled.

If I send a direct message to a team member today, it goes straight to their Inbox. That’s fine, but I literally cannot find a “Sent Messages” history. I tested this yesterday: I sent a message, and then I couldn’t find it anywhere to reference it later.

Also, asynchronous work is great, but sometimes we just need to have a quick, real-time conversation that isn’t tied to a specific task.

What we really need:
A dedicated “Chat” or “Messages” hub (maybe in the sidebar, or inside the “People” module).
If I click on a team member’s name, it should open a persistent chat window where I can see our recent conversation history, just like in Slack or Teams.

It would completely eliminate the need for a second app for quick internal communication. Does anyone else struggle with the current Inbox-only messaging style? Let me know your thoughts! :speech_balloon:
