Display of subtasks in the board and list view with display of the main task dependency. Not only as embedded hierarchical display.

If you are looking to view the subtask as a single task you just need to associate it to the Project by following these steps: How to Use Asana subtasks | Product guide • Asana Product Guide.
That way, you will be able to see it in the Board or List view as a single task.
