View workload of assignees on tasks without dates?

It is crazy that I cannot view anything on the Workload board for tasks without assigned dates. I don’t want to commit to any due dates until I know my assignee’s workload!

Please help / or suggest workarounds?

Thank you.

Hi @Atwixtor

Welcome to our community!

In Asana’s Portfolios, the Workload feature requires tasks to have due dates to show up on the Workload board. Without due dates, tasks won’t appear, as Workload relies on them to balance team capacity.

I understand this is not exactly how you would like this to work, but here are a few quick workarounds:

  1. Set Temporary Due Dates: Add estimated due dates to display tasks on the Workload board. Adjust these dates as needed for better visibility.
  2. Use Custom Fields: Tag unscheduled tasks with a custom field, then create a report to track them. This makes it easy to assign dates once workload capacity is reviewed.
  3. Prioritize First, Date Later: Start by prioritizing tasks by importance. Assign due dates afterward to balance the workload.
