Unable to create new Field for a Task

I’m currently working on 2 projects in Asana with 2 different Organizations.
In one case the project both shows a + icon in the top right corner and reacts when I click the “Add Field” option under the Customize tab. (1st screenshot)
The second project is missing the + icon and when I click on the “Add Field” option I get no response. (2nd and 3rd screenshots) Other projects I create as tests in this Organization are also missing this ability.

How can I add a field to these tasks in projects with the second Organization?

Steps to reproduce: Every time I’ve opened the project it appears this way.

Browser version: Just updated to Chrome 87.0.4280.88

Image “shows” missing + icon.

@jpeace You have referred to 2nd and 3rd screenshots, but I only see one screenshot here. Could you add the other screenshots?

Also, did you try toggling these ‘On’? That should help.

Is the other organization using Asana Premium or higher? Custom fields are available only in Premium or Higher. If that organization is using Basic, chances are you cannot see the + icon.

I am guessing you don’t have the rights, that could come from:

  • comment only project
  • you are a guest
  • the project is part of a team that is not in a Premiul or above plan.

Thanks for the help! I think it is the “guest” issue I’ll look into that further and think we should be able to get it taken care of easily as we are all on the same domain.
