Trigger rule for all tasks in a project

I’d like the ability to run rules against an entire project.

For instance this could enable translating an entire project’s task titles and descriptions using AI Studio.

Depending on the rule setting it would include subtasks or not.

A couple of sugestions for solving this:

A button Run rule now in the rule editor.

A play button in list of the rules under Customise > Rules

Would this be like reviving this thread? Suggestion: "Run Rules Now" button - #15 by Levar_M ? I know this has been a hot topic for a while for some of us. I see you’ve made a post yourself in that thread as well, but your feedback seems to be referring towards AI Studio to achieve this particular task.

I’m curious now as to if and when feedback like this gets started where does Asana draw the line at a feature like this to be implemented for free or become a paid feature. I know when it comes to AI Studio

what would the limitations be?

How does something like this gets decided?

As someone that uses Asana for work and play I’m concerned.

It is what I would have liked for that thread (and the one following it) to have become.

I’m only giving one example of what the feature would enable. There are a lot of other (non AI studio) situations where this would be beneficial.

For instance as a workaround for Modular Templates :

  • Setup rules to handle specific variations of standard projects
  • turn groups of tasks into approvals and reject them based upon the variation/rule selected to run to indicate these are not applicable for this specific project.

I understand now and I completely agree. Thanks.

It’s better to keep threads on one topic, but I’ll reply here to close it off, so please open a new thread if you need to; thanks.

You can read about AI Studio’s basic credits and pricing in the Help.

That’s up to Asana!

Thanks,

Larry
