As of now, comments do not carry over when converting a task to a project. This means important context and other information is lost unless you remember to copy the comments beforehand. Having them transfer over and visible in a “Previous Comments” tab would be immensely helpful.

Hi @anon21234191 , you may already be aware of this but thought I would share anyway.
When you convert a task into a project, the task description is transferred into the new project’s Overview tab.
Furthermore, below that, Asana adds a link to the original task where you can quickly find all your past comments (as well as any future comments that one may add to the closed task). Does that work for you?

I am facing the same challenge as I want to have the previous comments also migrated to Project as “comments”. Link does not work.

Do you mean the link does not work (broken) or it does not work for your particular use case?

Links are working but having a link is not the best option, I am looking to have the comments transferred

I agree! I’m going to be converting several tasks to projects and it would be more user friendly to see the historical comments carried over to the new project.
