TGIF: ☀ Asana Morning Rituals – What’s Yours?

Hi Asana community,

Happy Friday! Today, we’d love to chat about Asana morning rituals.

We all have our own routine to kick off the workday, and how we begin often shapes everything that follows. Whether it’s planning your priorities, checking in with your team, or moving tasks forward—those first few minutes in Asana matter.

For me, it always starts with clearing the Inbox :inbox_tray:

My Asana Inbox is where I catch up on updates, track what’s changed overnight, and reconnect with the flow of work. If I see action items, I immediately schedule follow-ups so nothing falls through the cracks. It helps me start the day focused, aligned, and one step ahead.

:eyes: We’re curious: What’s the very first thing you do in Asana each morning and why?

Maybe you start by reviewing your My Tasks, diving into a Calendar view, or checking on a key project dashboard.

Whatever your workflow looks like, we’d love to hear it!

:inbox_tray: Inbox is my first stop too! I can’t function before I check all my notifications and tidy it up

I start with My Tasks to keep my intent foremost, then Inbox, then return to make adjustments as needed.

When I load my home dashboard I take a look at everything showing up in my tasks and then check my inbox!

Sometimes I’ll even use Asana AI to ask what needs my attention for the day.

Email Inbox Zero, Asana Inbox Zero, Slack Inbox Zero and then clean My Tasks!

Hello everyone!!!
For me, it’s about peace of mind so: :hot_beverage: First thing in Asana, I scan the critical path for any overnight blockers, ensuring our key milestones remain on track :brick:. Then, a quick glance at the Dashboard gives me a feeling of progress. Finally, I dive into my Inbox and ‘My Tasks’ :check_box_with_check:

Morning All.

Great discussion and insights about our kick off routines. I start with Coffee, then inbox and project tasks etc.

Cheers

I start each day by checking my inbox and, if needed, creating reminder tasks. After that, I switch over to “My Tasks” to review the most recent tasks assigned to me. I then sort them into Must, Should, and Could sections – depending on how urgent and important they are. Tasks in the Must and Should categories get scheduled right away, and then I dive into the work for the day.

I’m all about the InBox as well. My approach to work is to find out how I may have to pivot on any given day. If I get too interested in the tasks I thought were going to shape my day, I get annoyed when I then read my InBox to find out my day might look completely different.

Always Check inbox then specific projects to see where we are at.

I set a timer for 25 minutes and run through My Tasks, then move on my Outlook Email.
