Asana is only as good as what you put into it. Here are 10 tips for Asana beginners to help you get started and adopt best practices, fast!
- Set up your first project (learn more in this video). Choose a simple, easy project while you’re getting the hang of Asana. e.g. content calendar, or client project.
- Check your Inbox a few times a day. Archive notifications once you’ve dealt with them.
- Like comments when you’ve read them.
- @-mention someone to loop them into a task and direct your comment at someone.
- Turn off email notifications. Work from your inbox instead.
- Work from your My Tasks (learn more in this video).
- How to create a good task (learn more in this video).
- Centralise your work in Asana. Forward emails to x@mail.asana.com.
- Set tasks to repeat for work you need to do each day/week/month.
- Plan out your Asana structure as a mind map (be careful not to set up too many projects and make it overwhelming).
