I’m looking for a template that will create multiple (in my case, I just need two right now) tasks within the same Asana project with one task dependent on the other. Is that something that exists as an option?
I know that I can create tasks with subtasks as a template, but I’m looking for separate tasks, not subtasks, because they need to go in different sections of the project to be handled by different teams.
Thanks for any help!

I’ve moved your post to where you can click the title to scroll to the top and vote by clicking the purple Vote button.

The only way I know how to with current functionality is to use a task template.
You can create a task template with on or more subtasks, and pre-create dependencies between those.
I’m marking this as solution as I’m fairly sure this is the only way to accomplish this in Asana currently.
@Phil_Seeman can tell you if flowsana has this functionality for two separate tasks.
Thanks, @Jan-Rienk.
Yes, @Jordan_Hawkins, you can accomplish this with the Add tasks rule action in our Flowsana integration. It allows you to add multiple top-level tasks, and you can have one of them be dependent on the other within our template and that dependency will be replicated when they’re created in the project.
The only thing is that they will be placed together immediately below the task that triggered them; so if you want one of them to be in another section, you can create another rule which is triggered by some property or combination of properties on the one you want moved, so that the rule will be triggered as soon as that task gets added, with an action to move it to its desired section.

@Jan-Rienk, I’ve unmarked your post as the solution because the OP says “I’m looking for separate tasks, not subtasks.”
Or am I misunderstanding something?
Thanks,
Larry
you’re completely right, I read over that. Unmarked it.

Thank you, Phil! That sounds like the best way to accomplish this with current functionality.
