Tasks seem to be assigned to two people at the same time

One of my coworkers asked me why she had tasks that she wasn’t assigned to (or even a collaborator on) show up in her My Tasks section.

It showed on my Asana account that she wasn’t assigned to it, and wasn’t a collaborator.

We played around with it for a while, and eventually figured out that there was two people assigned to the project, even though it never made her a collaborator, and someone else was showing as the assignee.

Once we removed the assignee (Taylor), it then removed her as well automatically.

Welcome, @Natasha_Klosterman, and thanks for posting here (after Slack).

Is there any chance you can reproduce this and screenshot without the yellow banner “Your changes are syncing…” because that might have something to do with this anomaly. I think Asana would want to see this without that banner to fully investigate.

Thanks,

Larry

@Natasha_Klosterman I edited your title slightly - I was concerned it would be potentially misread to be yet another request for Asana to add support for assigning a task to multiple people.

@Natasha_Klosterman Question: these tasks like the one you illustrated: do they actually appear in both peoples’ My Tasks view (Taylor’s and Chelsea’s in that example)?

What does the parenthetical “after Slack” mean? Is there an official Asana support / forums Slack channel?

@Eric_L_Hepperle_Eric,

There’s a Slack space open to Asana Ambassadors, but it’s not for official support.

Thanks,

Larry

Ah, got it! I just completed the Ambassador training, so I guess I should be receiving an invite to the Slack sometime soon.
