I’m trying to find a solution to task naming so that we do not have to include a [project indicator] on each task. ie Design Deck [Project X] the reason we have it is because there are a ton of projects with repetitive task names. if someone is assigned 10 Decks to design i’m not seeing a way they can easily see which project they are for in both calendar view or in the slack integration notifications that they have been assigned a task. it seems silly for them to have to click in to each thing to see which project. Especially on calendar view. Which is also an issue in the attached example for BD projects when looking at all tasks on a calendar view by team

I tried to see if setting up a report dashboard or saved search in calendar view would work but did not. and im not seeing a setting for slack to show up differently.

I noticed the notifications via email and asana app show the project which is good and if a board is customized with adding a project field then it can show up on board view and list view but have not found a solution to Calendars and slack assignment notifications.
Any advice would be appreciated
Hi @Kate_Goldsmith2 ,
I completely understand the pain here.
Is there a particular reason why you want to avoid including the project indicator in the name? If it’s not adding an additional step to the process - this can be automated with AI Studio naming rule.
Alternatively, I would consider a form of colour-coding. You can create a single select custom field with colours assigned to each project you want to highlight, and use that custom field as the colour display in your calendar view as a clear indicator.
For multihomed tasks, perhaps a list view would be preferred, where you can add the “project” column to give a clear insight into which other project each task is a part of.
Additionally, if projects are colour-coded, each assignee should be able to see the colour of the project in each task in their own My Task calendar view - task colours aligned with colours of projects they are part of would be the default setting here.
