Task dependency for tasks in MyTask (or outside projects)

I am contemplating in getting paid version of Asana, since I see there’s a lot of great features to help manage tasks. However, if I understand it correctly, task dependencies only work w/ tasks within projects.

I consider a task as a project when it cannot be completed w/in 1 day, so they need not necessarily be projects but some tasks falling in that category will have tasks that are dependent on them.

So, can we use task dependency feature only in projects, or can it also be used for tasks outside projects (or in my tasks)?

Dependencies can be used on all tasks, whether they are linked to a project or not. You can also use dependencies in My Tasks
