I personally use Asana almost everyday for three years now. I work with it as a Developer in a team.
Today, it came to me an ideia to suggest to Asana Team. It is something that I believe could improve the tool:
- When tagging someone in a comment, description, field or even assingning a task, the suggested people listed to pick should be more well filtered, not only by the name that I am typing after the @ tag, but I think it should filter and list first for selection, the card’s Collaborators that matches the search, afterwards, the other people not related to the task directly.
Take as example the image below. When I type @Carlos at the comment field, to tag a person related to the card, which just added 3 attachments above and did many more things in the card previously… from the 5 peoples listed to pick matching “Carlos”, only one of them is a Collaborator, which is the fourth option (yellow rectangle) that I actually want. The other 4 people listed to pick (red X’s) are not even related to the card in any manner and they are not one of the card’s Collaborators, but are being listed first. Sometimes, the person that I want to tag in a card, a Collaborator of the card, is not even shown in the first five options, making me scroll down the selection panel to find the rigth person.
