I wish there were an option to convert it to JPG when uploading a photo, that way it would do a one-time backend conversion, and the app would be able to handle the JPG easily.
Another option (less preferred) is that in case you use the camera option within the app, it will save a copy immediatly in your photo library.
Either way, sending this ticket to the backlog and hoping some day it will be supported by Chrome is not the right approach, as HEIC being used more and more. Ditch the AI campaign and prioritize daily useful functionality.
Thank you.
@Doron_B I hear you. Iām the biggest champion for (non-AI) core product investments. Dozens this last year alone. While in this case my advocacy to get a Hackathon project sponsored to work on this did not pan out, that does not mean we donāt continue to hear you all.
When uploading HEIC files from iphone to asana, they donāt display as an image and require downloading in order to view the image(s). Thatās a hassle and a time suck.
Iāve considered leaving ASANA, because of this issue. Over 50% of the world is on an iphone, and ASANA doesnāt convert the HEIC to a jpg natively, which means the file will be visible but the photo will not be visible, unless (from Asana) you choose the ādownloadā option⦠which defeats the concept of having uploaded the photo to asana, it also means that if you have multiple photos you canāt scroll through the images, you have to Download each one. What a headache and a time suck.
This topic has been discussed before, but the solution was simply not acceptable. ie, changing the format the iphone uses to suit Asana.
We use the HEIC files and need them, having things convert to JPG to suit Asana breaks other processes and we lose live photos etc which we use extensively.
I would like the Asana apps to automatically convert, or have a rules automation with the ability to convert file formats.
alternatively, just support viewing of HEIC files in Asana directly.
Hi @Daniel_Denson , Iāve moved your post into this existing thread which appears to be gaining some traction and has been marked considered which usually means it might be a few months away, if Asana chooses to develop it, that is!
I can certainly understand the troubles, however, just put the heic conversion right in the iOS app. No changes to Asana, and the device can do this quite easily before upload.
This is a major issue, weāve been demoing other products because we canāt upload images to Asana without ābreakingā other processes.
