.heic file issue? Photos not displaying

Lately my Apple mobile users have been uploading photos that come through as a .heic file that Asana doesn’t display at all. I can’t even download them and view them on a Windows PC that’s up to date with Windows.

Seems to be only if the pic originates from an Apple device.

Anyone else having a struggle here? It’s starting to cost us a LOT of time trying to work around this.

@Matt5 this is due to a recent Apple update that changed a file setting, we had the same issue being emailed photos from an iPhone. This can be changed back by doing the following:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Scroll down and tap on Photos.

  3. Scroll to the bottom and find Transfer to Mac or PC.

  4. Choose: Automatic

This will change the shared files to the .jpg format.

Hopefully Asana can patch this to where the pictures show up. I know it’s not an Asana bug but there are a lot of Apple users on mobile.

Hi @Jeremy_Long ,
I tried your suggestion via an Ipad and found that this didnt change anything for us unfortunately. the setting under photos was already set as 'automatic’.

@Dan_Kish that is curious.. it seemed to have worked for everyone else that I’ve talked to. @ambforumleader have any of you experienced this?
