So I’m not the biggest fan of the new list view either, just because I loved the simplicity of the previous layout and now it all looks more complicated than it did before. However, I guess it’s a matter of getting used to it - unless you decide to revert the changes. 
The one thing that ‘annoys’ me is the subtask count in the timeline view. I really like the idea in general and in the list view it makes sense, but having it in the timeline bars as well makes it really confusing, especially when you have a number at the end of your task title as well:
The number and the subtask icon are very distracting and I don’t think they are as necessary and useful in the timeline view as they are in the list. I don’t know about other companies, but we use the timeline mainly for getting an overview of a project, looking at dependencies and moving stuff around. I would really appreciate if this could be removed in the final version.
